REDEFINING LUXURY. DEFINING TRUE SUSTAINABILITY.

Tengri fabrics are made with rare natural fibres from the most remote corners of the world, sustainably sourced via our transparent supply chain.

A NATURAL FABRIC INNOVATION COMPANY

True luxury is defined by quality and provenance. The finest fabrics – and the stories behind them.

And true sustainability? Sourcing regenerative, noble fibres respectfully, and in a way that is transparent, beneficial and led by the world’s last nomadic mountain communities involved as our partners. This is the Tengri way.

OUR FOUNDER’S STORY

Tengri is the brainchild of Nancy Johnston, who became fascinated by the relationship between people, animals and the land while travelling in Mongolia.

That’s where she wrote the original Tengri business plan, on the back of a chocolate wrapper.

Back in London, Nancy founded Tengri by building a dynamic network of highly experienced experts in fibre and yarn technology, fabric production and sustainability.

NOBLE FABRICS,

CONVERSATIONS

From East to West, explore diverse perspectives from Tengri and our community of friends around the world.

IN THE NEWS

“Tengri is working with yak fibre which is said to have a lighter ecological footprint (than goats) because they graze the top of grass, rather than eat from the roots, allowing the soil to remain intact and wildlife to co-exist.”

“British label Tengri is introducing the use of Mongolian yak hair as an alternative for cashmere. Knits from yak are just as soft and durable as the premium fabric.”

“[Tengri] has equipped Savile Row tailor Huntsman with a limited edition supply of fabric, enabling the discerning gent to commission a bespoke coat from yak fibre ethically sourced in Mongolia, spun in Yorkshire and designed and made in London.”
